Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) FAQ Malaysia

Short answer: Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) is a dedicated, symmetrical, SLA-backed business internet line. In Malaysia, pricing depends on location, fibre availability, contract term and bandwidth; installation in an on-net building typically takes 4 to 6 weeks, and contracts are commonly 12, 24 or 36 months. Below are straight answers to the questions buyers ask us most.

DIA questions and answers

How much does DIA cost in Malaysia?

Price depends on location, fibre availability at your building, contract term and bandwidth. Compare at least 3 Tier-1 carriers for your address. See our Malaysia DIA price guide for current estimates.

What contract terms are available?

Most DIA contracts start at 24 months. Some carriers offer 12 months at a higher monthly rate, or 36 months at a lower monthly rate.

Is there a setup fee?

There may be a one-time setup fee, and a fibre pull cost if your building is not yet on the carrier's network.

Which telco is cheapest for DIA?

No single telco is always cheapest. It depends on which networks already reach your building, so compare at least 3 Tier-1 carriers.

Which carriers does DACS work with?

TM, Maxis, TIME and uMobile.

Why use DACS instead of going direct to a telco?

Do I get static IP addresses?

Yes. DIA includes a static IP, and more fixed IP addresses can be requested.

Can I have a backup line?

Yes. A common setup is DIA plus business broadband failover on the same router, or two DIA lines from different carriers for the highest resilience. Read more
