Short answer: Businesses in Malaysia can buy Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) from several licensed carriers, including TM One, TIME dotCom, Maxis Business, CelcomDigi Business and U Mobile (U Business). All of them sell DIA as a dedicated, uncontended line, but they differ in how the last mile reaches your building, the bandwidth range, contract terms and the extras they bundle. The right carrier depends on which networks already reach your address, so the best way to choose is to compare written offers for your exact site.

Coverage, bandwidth tiers and service levels change and depend on your location. Always ask each carrier for its service schedule for your exact address and configuration.

How to compare DIA carriers

  • Coverage at your address. Ask whether the carrier’s fibre is already in your building or street. A carrier with fibre on site can usually install faster than one that has to build new access.
  • Bandwidth and growth. Check the bandwidth you can start with and how easily you can upgrade during the contract.
  • SLA, repair time and service credits. Read the availability target, the repair commitment and whether missed targets pay service credits. Our DIA SLA guide explains what to look for.
  • Contract term. Terms usually run from one year to several years. Ask about early termination and upgrade terms before you sign.
  • Static IPs and extras. Confirm how many public IP addresses are included and whether DDoS protection, managed routers or firewalls cost extra.
  • Support. Check who you call when the line goes down, and whether the carrier monitors your circuit around the clock.

Single carrier or two carriers?

A single DIA line from one carrier suits most offices. If downtime is very costly for your business, consider a second line from a different carrier that enters your building by a separate path. Two independent carriers protect you from a fault on either network, not just a cut fibre.
